MAGIC KNIGHT RAYEARTH MANGA BY SERIAL
Appearing as a serial in the manga magazine Nakayoshi from November 1993 to February 1995, the chapters of Magic Knight Rayearth were collected into three bound volumes by Kodansha, and published from July 1994 to March 1995.Ī sequel was serialized in the same manga magazine from March 1995 to April 1996 issue, and was published by Kodansha in three bound volumes from to July 1995 to April 1996. Overall this figure is a must for fans of this classic series as well as figma fans in general.Magic Knight Rayearth ( 魔法騎士 レイアース, Mahō Kishi Reiāsu) is a Japanese manga series created by Clamp, an all-female manga artist team consisting of Satsuki Igarashi, Ageha Ohkawa, Tsubaki Nekoi and Mokona.
It’s almost like it came directly from the artbooks! My favorite thing about this figure would have to be none other than her sword! There is such detail in its design, as well as a flawless paint job. I was shocked that Mokona wasn’t included with her! (Thankfully will get them with Umi…) Hikaru comes with a few accessories: her sword, a few more hands, kitty ears, and two extra facial expressions. I’m glad that Max Factory decided to lean more towards the manga art-style (such as pink hair instead of red), and it’s nice that the armor is the default armor from the second series instead of being one of the many armor changes from the first series! I hope that one day we might possibly see scales of the armor from when the knights are in their Rune Gods/Mashin. figuarts, but her details are so lovely! The way her hair and braid are sculpted is quite beautiful. The figure herself is a little bit small compared to my Sailor Moon s.h. I’m happy that the color scheme was a dark shade of pink instead of a burning red. figuarts boxes, showcasing the various poses you can create with Hikaru. The box is nice and reminds me of my s.h. Prior to purchasing this Figma, the only other Figma I had was of Devil Homura, so most of my experience with posable figures had been with the S.H.
Once more, I screamed! (and then texted my mom) Then came that fateful summer morning where I was checking Twitter and noticed Hikaru had *just* went up for preorder. but then Hikaru’s prototype was leaked online and all of that fear of cancelation started to fade. “Rayearth would be getting merch?!” However, as months went by and nothing new was said, I began to doubt that they would ever be released…. When I first learned that Max Factory would be making the legendary magic knights into Figma’s, I screamed. One of my all-time favorite songs (as well as my favorite anime theme song) is the 1st opening theme Unyielding Wish by Naomi Tamura.Īs much as I loved this series, I could never find any merchandise other than the DVDs and manga volumes, and if I did find merchandise, it’s price was sky-high. I’m truly thankful to this series for influencing me as both a writer and an artist, in which Clamp’s detailed art style and the anime character designs by Atsuko Ishida-san inspired me to make my art as detailed as possible. Followed by its sequel Magic Knight Rayearth II. One of the first manga series I ever read was none other than Clamp’s original hit Magic Knight Rayearth.
